Today I published my second Legal Guide on the website www.avvo.com titled “Deeds and Marriage in Oklahoma.”  This new Legal Guide discusses issues that frequently comes up in real estate transactions and closings regarding marital status: Do both spouses have to sign a deed?  What if someone is single?

Check it out here:  https://www.avvo.com/legal-guides/ugc/deeds-and-marriage-in-oklahoma.

I will probably do a follow up post or two soon on some related issues and try to go a little deeper.  The goal of the Legal Guide was to set down the three basic rules for each and every deed with respect to marital status in Oklahoma.   Understanding and following these rules can save people a lot of trouble.
