4th May 2018

Pioneer Days is one of the largest annual celebrations and festivals in Guymon and the Oklahoma Panhandle area.  There are parades, BBQs, run/walk events, breakfasts, pancake eating contests, carnivals, world-class rodeo performances, mercantiles (arts, crafts, wares), several special items for kids, and something for everyone.  It is a great chance to catch up with friends and for the community to come together.

It is already in full swing for several days as we head into the main weekend.  You can see the main schedule here and read more about the Hall of Fame rodeo and other events here.

Also attached are a couple of pictures.  The first couple are of the Point Rock Riders coming into Guymon this morning. Every year they ride by horseback from Elkhart, KS to Guymon, OK as part of the Pioneer Days celebrations to the greetings of local dignitaries, the Guymon Ambassadors, and many in the community – especially kids who love to see the horses.   The third is my little Cowboys and their cousin Cowgirls in my conference room “helping” me wrap up a few things before the main fun begins.
