The Daily Oklahoman and other news outlets such as Bloomberg and News on 6 are reporting that Public Service Co. of Oklahoma (PSO) has announced it will NOT proceed with the Wind Catcher project.

The Wind Catcher website states the Wind Catcher is a $4.5 billion infrastructure project to bring energy to 1.1 million people in the Tulsa area and then in surrounding states.  You may have seen TV ads and other promotion of the project in recent days.

It is of particular interest in my area of the state, the Oklahoma Panhandle, because that is the location of the proposed construction and operation of eight hundred wind turbines and the beginning of the 350 mile extra-high voltage line to the Tulsa area.

This is at least the second major wind project that has either become sidetracked or cancelled in this area in 2018.  I blogged about the Clean Line Energy project back in January.
