I recently took my son Hank with me to a hearing.  We had to drive from my office here in Guymon to the Courthouse in Beaver – the County Seat of Beaver County.  (I practice primarily in Texas County, Oklahoma – in the Guymon area – but routinely travel to other Counties such as Beaver County and Cimarron County.)

Drives like that are usually fun.  It is a nice change of pace from the normal routine of legal work to hear about the world through a 3-year-old’s mind while traveling through the countryside.  As he promised, Hank was pretty good during the short, routine probate hearing.

Afterward, the Honorable Ryan D. Reddick, Associate District Judge, asked Hank if he wanted to sit in the Judge’s chair.  Hank is not bashful and jumped right up.  They were laughing and having a good time, and I grabbed my phone and snapped this picture.
