Thanks, Russell

For the last few years, I have had the  honor of speaking at National Business Institute (NBI) Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses.  I prepared the written materials last year and prepared to speak on “Title Search and Examination Fundamentals” at the NBI Title Law from Start to Finish CLE in Oklahoma City in December.

The week of the event my entire family came down with the flu: my 4 year old, my 2 year old, myself, and my 8 month pregnant wife.  This made the travel and presentation next to impossible.

My friend and colleague Russell Wantland of Resolution Legal Group in Oklahoma City graciously filled in for me – at the last minute.  We spoke together a couple of years ago at a similar NBI CLE event.  I have of course thanked him privately several times, but I wanted to post a big public thank you to Russell!

And again I apologize to the NBI folks for any inconvenience, as I have privately, but it was out of all our hands.  I look forward to working with you again on future CLEs.

The good news is: Russell did a fine job.  Everyone in my family recovered, and we had a healthy baby boy about a month later, which I have posted about previously here.
